Georgia Cardosi

Georgia Cardosi is an Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture of Université de Montréal, and an associated researcher at RÉSAUD-Alioune-Badiane. She holds a PhD in Environmental Design and Planning (Mention Excellence) and received the Award of Urban Excellence in PhD 2018 from the Observatoire Ivanhoé Cambridge (OIC). She is a registered Italian architect specialized in architecture, urban design, and housing design, with 17 years of experience in Italy and abroad. From 1994 to 2002, she professionally collaborated at Luigi Pellegrin’s office in Rome. Since 2007, she has volunteered as an architect for AOC onlus, working with communities in Nairobi, Kenya. She has experience in international cooperation and development, having worked in Sri Lanka in 2006. Between 2012 and 2014, she collaborated with RFA in Montreal. Her scientific research focuses on architectural composition and urban design in Rome, urban informality, and urban poverty in Kenya and Africa. She has served as a researcher and a teaching assistant at Università di Roma La Sapienza and the University of Montreal. She is affiliated with the IF research group - grif, and Oeuvre Durable (OD).
